Hormone Replacement Therapy

Bio-Identical Hormones Replacement Therapy (BHRT) is compounded from hormones that are identical to what your body produces. BHRT can be viewed as “natural” alternative to synthetic versions that are not the same as your own body.

BHRT requires unique combinations to work just for you. RX Compound Store can customize any BHRT formula in several dosage forms depending on the symptom, severity, or your preference. These include vaginal, transdermal, sublingual, & oral capsules. Discuss with your doctor which method is best for you.

Pain Management

No pain is the same! So, effectively treating pain must also be unique to the individual experiencing it. The most effective medicinal treatment plans for pain will consider a person’s type of pain (whether it is acute or chronic), the reason for the pain, and the medical history of that individual. Chronic pain afflicts approximately 10-20% of the adult population, and approximately half of those suffering are inadequately treated. For those in any kind of pain, the good news is RX Compound Store Pharmacy can help your pain relief with the proper approach!

The most common pain treatments include non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAID) and opioid analgesics. by combining various agents that utilize different mechanisms to alter the sensation of pain, physicians have found that smaller concentrations of each medication can be used.

  • Oral Pain Medicine – Delivery methods include capsules, dissolvable troches, Lolli-pops & liquids. This helps release the medication within the blood stream for proper absorption.
  • Topical Pain Medicine – Delivered through creams, lotions, sprays, drops or patches; and are applied topically to the skin. Topical pain medications have the best relief without the side effects.
  • Rectal – suppositories and other dosage forms may be preferable when patients are nauseated or vomiting, or when patient is not permitted oral intake
  • Nasal sprays and drops – promotes rapid absorption

By working together, RX Compound Store Pharmacy can individualize medications and make necessary adjustments to maximize pain relief!

OB-GYN

OB stands for obstetrics or obstetrician, a physician who cares for women and their babies during pregnancy and childbirth. GYN stands for gynecology or gynecologist, a physician who specializes in treating female reproductive conditions.

While the vast majority of OB/GYNs are generalists, data from the American Board of Medical Specialties (ABMS) shows the number of OB/GYNs obtaining board certification in a subspecialty has been increasing recently. There are seven recognized subspecialties, which are outlined by the ABMS:

Critical care medicine: This specialty involves diagnosing, treating, and supporting critically ill and injured patients.
Complex family planning: An OB/GYN who subspecializes in complex family planning works with women who have complex conditions, and they consult with other providers to ensure proper reproductive care for their patients.
Female pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgery: Physicians who specialize in female pelvic medicine and reconstructive surgery provide medical and surgical treatment to women with pelvic floor disorders.
Gynecologic oncology: Doctors who practice this OB/GYN subspecialty are trained in techniques used to provide the best possible treatment for patients with gynecologic cancers.
Hospice and palliative medicine: OB/GYNs who practice this subspecialty work with patients who have life-limiting illnesses, working to optimize quality of life and minimize suffering.
Maternal-fetal medicine: OB/GYNs who practice maternal-fetal medicine are experts in addressing health concerns for both the mother and baby, and they also help manage complications that arise during pregnancy.
Reproductive endocrinology and infertility: Reproductive endocrinologists are OB/GYNs who evaluate and treat fertility issues and hormonal dysfunctions.

Urology

Urology refers to the branch of medicine and surgery that deals with conditions affecting the male and female urinary tract (kidneys, ureters, bladders, and urethra) as well as the male reproductive organs. Health problems affecting these body parts can happen to everyone, making urology a very important branch of medicine. Urologists have to know how to treat a very large variety of clinical problems, and besides having expertise on the surgical specialty of urology, they must have knowledge of gynecology, pediatrics, internal medicine, and other fields of healthcare.

Common conditions that urologists have to treat include: benign prostate, enlargement, prostate infection, prostate cancer, kidney stones, kidney cancer, erectile dysfunction, bladder control, urinary tract infections, bladder cancer, testicular cancer, low-testosterone, and peyronie’s disease.

Our facility has the ability to compound all the commonly prescribed urology medications, in custom dosage form and strength, which includes: capsules, injections, creams, gels, oral liquids, rapid dissolve tablets, and troches.

Veterinary

Treating pets with medications can be difficult. By compounding medications into a form the pet will more easily accept, we can help minimize the trauma your pets experience when having to swallow a pill, etc. One of the ways we can do this is by adding animal friendly flavors such as tuna, beef, or liver to the medication which can turn a bitter oral medication into something they will happily devour. Commercial animal medications often only come in one size or dosage that may not be right for your pet. Our team of experienced compounding technicians can prepare a medication for your pet with the exact same active ingredients as the commercially available medication but in a size that’s just right for them. Furthermore, just like us, animals are often allergic to types of preservatives, dyes, or fillers that are commonly found in commercially available medication. We can compound medications that are dye-free or use a different filler (for example using cellulose instead of lactose) which will eliminate the risk of the medication having potential allergens.
